Deep within the woods all manner of spirits roam far and wide, healing tree, bushes, and water streams but also tends the unaware visitors whom may venture within the treeline in whatever way they deem fit. Some of them are benevolent and others are of a more mischievous nature and one of these is the water spirit.
At times, during the dead of night, the water spirit takes out his violin, playing melodies which lures the unwary whom have lost their way and dare thread off the path deep in the dark woods.
Sometimes he may play such a tune that will mesmerize and enchant the unwary. Neither thick bush nor steep hill will obstruct whomever is caught by those sweet and melancholy melodies untill they have found its source and see out in the water, a gloomy figure sitting there. That is where the depth of the water and its spirit will claim its victim.
But there are times when the water spirit is merciful and gentle at heart and will with his violin heal the one whom may catch the melodies. To feel the melodies warm and caress the heart and spirit of the one whom is lost, so the next morning they view nature and the world around them in a different light. To feel the wonder of being a part of this world where the spirits and magic of old still resides.

The spirits of the woods call to us in these troubled times to remember what is important, to be kindhearted to even the smallest of beings and to them who have lost their ways and are clouded by the bitterness of the modern world and its affairs.
Remember that there is tranquility and rejuvenation to be found within the woods. Even if you can't see the spirits, that doesn't mean they are not there watching us.
